Colour Speckled
The Sussex Hen was first bred in Britain around the 1920s. There are many types of Sussex nowadays but at first, there were only several Speckled colours being one of them. They have a long thick body shape with a large breast and medium-sized tail feathers.
The comb is not that large and they also have red earlobes they also have no feathers on their face or legs. The legs are white in colour with 4 toes.
The Speckled Sussex is a very friendly bird they are not flighty and are pretty placid in their nature.
If you are looking for a good egg-laying hen and you have children then the Speckled Sussex will make an excellent pet chicken. They will also provide you with plenty of eggs to see you through the year even in the wintertime they will still lay eggs. They may slow down in wintertime but you will still get some eggs from them.
