A very nicely preserved set of the first edition, third printing of the collected works of John Bunyan. An imposing near 15 inches high on the shelf, with a Recommendatory Preface by George Whitefield, this is, to our recollection, the only time Whitefield provided something like this for a publication, speaking to his high regard for the "immortal dreamer" and his works.

Very attractive on the shelf in original or early leather to spine and boards. Marbled boards replaced with a bespoke hand-marbled paper. Textually generally clean with some handling, small closed tears, and occasional foxing / staining as shown. Bindings just the slightest bit tender.
