The Piece

Solid oak of this age and construction is not easy to find. This wardrobe — handmade in Europe from heavy solid oak, not veneer, not composite — is the kind of furniture that defines a room rather than furnishing it. Panelled double doors framed by hand-turned oak columns. Two generous drawers beneath. A presence that makes itself known the moment you walk in.

The natural oak grain carries the warmth and depth that only genuinely aged timber develops — a historic patina that no factory-applied finish can replicate. Each mark in the wood and variation in grain is the record of the piece's previous life, and a significant part of its value.

The Detail

Inside, natural reclaimed timber boards line the interior, with a sturdy wooden hanging pole and original wooden pegs — honest, traditional construction that reflects how this piece was built rather than how it was marketed. Generous hanging space for coats, dresses and everyday clothing, with two deep drawers for linens, accessories or smaller items.

Solid oak construction throughout. No veneer. No flat-pack carcass. Built heavy, built to last, and already has.

Condition

In very good vintage condition. As a one-off piece built from genuinely aged solid oak, it carries gentle signs of a previous life — minor surface variations, softly worn edges, subtle marks that speak to its provenance rather than detract from it. All doors, drawers and hardware function as intended.
