This Belle Époque three-stone ring is exceptionally unique. Set to centre a round-cut 0.25 carat ruby with impressive transparency and saturation. The ruby is secured in a rub-over setting between two 0.30 carat old transitional-cut diamonds. The openwork setting extends above and below the principal diamonds, providing the ring with an elongated and impressive face, epitomising the Belle Époque style. Sixteen smaller rose-cut diamonds surround the three-stone arrangement in a cluster around the ruby, above each diamond and on the shoulders of the ring, they amount to a combined weight of 0.15 carats and increase the total diamond weight to 0.75 carats. The setting is carefully pierced and detailed with millegrain edging. Both diamonds are matching and original with an average VS2 clarity and H colour. Tested 18ct yellow gold and platinum, circa 1900.
Unless stated otherwise, gem weights and specifications are estimated (assessed in mount).
