WARP is proud to present the latest two-disc set by Mount Kimbie, an important artist in the UK electronic/indie scene! Mount Kimbie consists of Dom Maker and Kai Campos, two of the most important acts in the UK electronic/indie scene since the decade. The group, which once included James Blake as a live member and has played a central role in the electronic music scene, has released their latest album "MK 3.5: Die Cuts | City Planning", a 2-CD set featuring works by each member, on Warp. The album is a collection of works by each member of the band. The album is an expression of the duality of Mount Kimbie's aesthetic. Dom's "Die Cuts" is colorful and melody-driven, and the album features a wide variety of styles, thanks to the inclusion of a number of different collaborators.Moving between hip-hop, R&B, electronic, and pop, it combines crafted songwriting with subtle, left-field touches and features a stellar lineup of guests, including James Blake, Slowtie, Danny Brown, Reggie, Wiki, and others. Kai's City Planning, on the other hand, is the product of a deep, personal aesthetic exploration. A collection of wild, subtle, and looping sounds, City Planning is a clever and sophisticated output of avant-garde elements. Interspersed with the sophisticated beats and arpeggios are also sounds that feel strange and intensely individual, which make the album as a whole a warm and engaging piece of work. The contrast between the two complements each other, and once again, the listener is reminded of the unique sound that Mount Kimbie has created. The CD of the domestic distribution version comes with a commentary enclosed.
