The perfect antique gold-filled, story-telling layer... we love Victorian pocket watch chains and love making them into necklaces- especially when they are as story-telling and ornate as this one - which includes a fob from one of the earliest Unions in the country!
Often called ' Albert chains,' named after a style of pocket watch chain Prince Albert wore and popularized in the Victorian Era (19th century). Traditionally this style of watch chain has a clasp on one end, and a T-bar - to loop through a men's vest button hole. We combined two chains to elongate this one to 18" - to be worn as a necklace. Original dog clip clasp, T-bar and fabulous enameled fob creates a perfectly asymmetrical, charmed look, - most likely from the late 1800s. See below to learn more about the history of the AOUW.
