It is designed to hold the equivalent of DT11F and 230 yards of 30# backing. The reel is in excellent+ condition, with a few tiny scuffs on the handle, some mounting marks on the foot, and a few tiny scuffs on the frame, though so minute that they are hard to detect. It is perfect mechanically. Considered by Jack Charlton himself as his best work, the Charlton 8550C is known by anglers and collectors around the world for its machining quality. The 8550C series follows the Charlton configurable approach, accommodating line weights 7 and above with four distinctively different spools sizes (each sold separately).
