A superb original console table by Bernhard Rohne for Mastercraft — one of the most sought-after designer and manufacturer partnerships in American Hollywood Regency and MCM furniture. The tabletop is decorated with Rohne's signature acid-etched designs, positioned on a brass frame with brass legs. Circa 1970s, USA.
Bernhard Rohne was the celebrated in-house designer for Mastercraft of Detroit — one of the premier American luxury furniture manufacturers of the postwar era. Rohne's acid-etching technique, applied to brass and burl veneer surfaces, created an instantly recognizable aesthetic that defined the Hollywood Regency interior at its most glamorous. Mastercraft pieces appear regularly at major auction houses and on 1stDibs, where comparable Rohne console tables list from $2,500 to well over $8,000.
At 66 inches wide this is a generous, room-anchoring console — ideal as an entryway piece, behind a sofa, or as a sideboard in a dining space. The acid-etched brass top catches light beautifully and rewards close inspection.
Good condition with slight tarnish to minor areas of brass and scuffs consistent with age and use.
See our other listings for additional pieces from our Bernhard Rohne for Mastercraft collection — including the acid-etched burl armoire, burl cocktail table, king canopy bed, and wall mirror — available separately or as a coordinated suite.
