For sale here is a Gary Howells bamboo rod in excellent condition - 8 1/2 feet for a 5 weight in the standard 2/2 format, labeled 4 1/8 oz. Serial number 4731. This rod has been fished very sparingly and well taken care of. Carbide stripping guide, wrapped in brown thread with gold trim. Reverse half wells grip, uplocking aluminum reel seat with gorgeous zebrawood spacer. Includes original red bag and labeled aluminum tube. Label is in excellent condition as well. Varnish is in excellent condition with a few use marks.

According to Joe Beelart's book, Howells only made sixty nine 8 1/2' 5wt rods and of that number, forty nine weighed 4 1/8 oz. like the one being offered here at Vintage Fly Tackle.
