Bombé Diamond Ring. By the mid-1930s, the geometric shapes that had characterised the Art Deco movement which had dominated the previous decade gradually became more simplified and voluminous. The stepped design and the curved form of this ring is a marvellous example of design from this developed Art Deco style - it’s more architectural, and takes clear inspiration from industrial forms. It also has a clear link to designers such as Suzanne Belperron, who were pushing the boundaries of this style, and integrating more organic, curved forms into their designs.
