Super Skin Systems JointSeal Flex is a 2-component 100% solids, zero VOC, elastomeric polyurea sealing system designed to act as a crack filler for use with large to small to large cracks in concrete, masonry and other cementitious substrates. This material provides exceptional adhesion characteristics and fast cure times. It is highly chemical resistant, insensitive to water, abrasion resistant and remains thermally stable in a range of -20°F (-29 C) to 250°F (125 C). It may be used under traditional floor coatings or any of our top-coating materials. Joint Seal is used in heavy traffic warehouse floors, refrigeration floors, chemical spill prone floors, pothole road repair or under ceramic tile floors. Joint seal is also designed to be used on expansion joints.

Material Use:
JointSeal Flex is a two-component, 100% solids, zero-VOC elastomeric polyurea used primarily as a flexible crack and joint sealant for concrete, masonry, and other cementitious surfaces. It is suitable for sealing control joints, expansion joints, and cracks of various sizes. It is engineered to withstand chemical exposure, abrasion, and extreme thermal cycling, making it ideal for use in heavy-traffic environments or harsh service conditions.

System Components:

• Part A (Isocyanate Component)

• Part B (Resin + Optional Pigment Component)
  Custom colors must be added to Part B prior to mixing.

• Can be used in combination with SuperSkinSystems top-coating products for added protection and performance.

Application Details:

• Mix Ratio: 1A:1B by volume

• Application Methods: Plural component pump, cartridge dispensing, or hand mixing (quick action required due to fast gel time)

• Surface Preparation: Concrete must be cured 28 days, clean, and completely dry. Moisture will cause adhesion issues, bubbling, or blistering.

• Temperature Requirements:

  • Material must be above 70°F for application

  • Ambient surface temperature range: 20°F to 150°F

• Coverage: Varies by joint size. For example, a ¼" x ¼" joint yields approx. 308 linear feet per gallon; a 1" x 1" joint yields about 19 linear feet per gallon.

• Curing & Pot Life:

  • Gel time: 3–5 minutes

  • Tack-free: 8–10 minutes

  • Return to service: 15–20 minutes

  • Full shaveable cure: after 30 minutes

• Backer Rod Use: Not recommended in saw-cut joints ≤ 2" deep. Should not exceed 25% of slab depth.

• Application Technique: Overfill joints and shave flush after curing. Depths >1” should be filled in two passes.

Special Notes:

• Chemical Resistance & Abrasion: Excellent; suitable for chemically aggressive and high-traffic areas.

• Flexibility: High elongation (500%) and strong tear resistance (350 PLI).

• UV Stability: JointSeal Flex is aromatic polyurea and will yellow or chalk under UV exposure. For UV-sensitive applications, dark colors are recommended or consider using UV-stable topcoats.

• Viscosity: Side A: 1000 ± 200 cps | Side B: 1150 ± 200 cps

• Hardness: Shore A 85 ± 5

• Shelf Life: 6 months in sealed containers stored between 60°F and 95°F

• Storage Precaution: Store above 60°F and avoid freezing. Use desiccant during dispensing to protect against moisture.

• Limitations: Not UV-stable; not to be diluted; not to be applied over wet surfaces or with feathered edges.
