Between recording albums, touring, going on surf trips, and running the Costa Mesa Conceptual Art Center, Costa Mesa's Alex Knost manages to squeeze in some time to shape some select sleds.

This new Egg model from Alex is the perfect combination of flow, glide, and performance. It features a wide-point-forward outline with a pulled in and slightly rounded nose, as well as a pulled in rounded pintail. The rails are a great medium between knifey and full, making for a board that surf in all kinds of waves. The bottom begins with a slightly rolled entry that flows into a shallow single concave, which further transitions into a moderate spiral vee in front of the fin box that finally smooths into a vee through the exit. As far as rocker, this Egg is basically flat, with only slightest curve that nestles the board nicely into the pocket.
