Knoll — Pair of Signed Mid-Century Chairs & Slatted Bench
3-Piece Lot | Sold Together | Brooklyn, NY Estate
Chairs: H 34 in. × W 21 in. × D 21 in. each | Bench: H 19 in. × W 72 in. × D 12 in.
A compelling three-piece lot comprising a pair of Knoll-signed mid-century chairs together with a clean-lined slatted bench — all from a Brooklyn, NY estate and offered together as found. The Knoll signature on the chairs is a significant provenance marker: Knoll International, founded in 1938 and directed by Florence Knoll from the mid-1940s, was the preeminent American manufacturer of modernist furniture and worked with virtually every major designer of the postwar era, from Mies van der Rohe and Eero Saarinen to Harry Bertoia and Warren Platner. Knoll-signed chairs from this period regularly command strong prices on the secondary market depending on the specific model.
The slatted bench — at 72 inches long — is a versatile and architecturally strong piece, suited for use at the foot of a bed, in an entryway, or as a low console. Its clean horizontal slatted form is wholly consistent with the American modernist idiom of the 1950s–60s.
⚠️ Note for Buyers: This is a 3-piece lot sold as found. Please review all photos carefully to assess condition and specific chair model. The Knoll label/signature is noted in the auction description — Paul recommends confirming chair model identification before final pricing.
