An Aroner Spring Creek bamboo fly rod, 6', 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #3 line. DF action. Mint condition, in fact the rod doesn't even appear to have been lawn cast. This is an early-ish rod of mine, dating to the late 1980's or early 1990's . Blonde wheatstraw colored cane, with the nodes hand pressed and configured in a three up pattern. Wrapped in olive with dark maroon edges. A tournament circle guide has been substituted for a stripper a la the Catskill style. The tips measure .046" and utilize a tiny tip top. The ferrules are truncated swiss with a collar and incised slant knurl. The ferrules are oxidized jet black. The varnish is flawless. The dimunitive medium cigar grip is 4 1/4" long. The mortised and varnished spacer underneath the cap and ring hardware is an exceptional piece of birds-eye maple with a light stain to bring out the grain. The butt cap and ring have been slightly shortened to go with the slightly shortened seat at 3 1/4". The rod bag is a tan colored poplin and the aluminum rod tube is highly polished and fitted with a brass FE Thomas style cap, collar, and bottom that I obtained from Sam Carlson.
