A selection of Cabernet Sauvignon clones 338C and 169A and Petit Verdot clone 219A planted 2002 and 2003. Destemmed, hand-sorted, whole berries pumped into stainless-steel fermentation tanks and pumped over twice a day until dry. After fermentation the wine was left on the skins for 12 hours before pressing and being racked to barrel for malolactic conversion. Aged for 20 months in 100% new French barriques. Not cheap! Mid crimson. Fresh fruit on the palate but quite light. Freshness seems to be the aim with Thelema reds. Acidity still quite prominent. Is the model the classic red bordeaux of the 1980s?
