Very fine copy of Nead's classic work articulating a "baptist" history of Christianity. Peter Nead [1796-1877] was born Lutheran but experienced an evangelical conversion of sorts to the Methodist church, before becoming convinced of believer's immersion and joining the German Baptists [Dunkers]. He became an influential divine among them and one of their most vocal and articulate authors, especially in English. Rare, and here finely preserved.
