Informal information:
What Juetsu was renowned for - high quality suiban. Porcelain is an ideal clay for a celadon glaze, and this one is a continuous, unctuous, pale green blue that suggests a light, refreshing pool. Pair it with a suiseki or rock planting to suggest a cool summer scene.
Condition: Used, excellent.
Juetsu, founded in 1927 by (Juho?) and Etsuji Kimata, the company name Ju-etsu came from a contraction of Juho and Etsuji. Kato Hisamine was the craftsman skilled in porcelain work, Etsuji worked on sales. From 1950 onwards, they produced suiban and were highly regarded in suiseki circles, they also produced shohin bonsai pots. I believe all works are made from porcelain, and possibly all hand made using moulds.
