Maurice Denis (1870–1943), a French artist, prioritized large-scale decorative murals and collaborated on innovative church decorations using reinforced concrete. Co-founder of the Ateliers d'Art Sacré, he aimed to reconcile art with modern civilization through religious works. His civic murals adorned significant buildings, and his writings emphasized beauty and emotion in art. Denis's exhibitions, including retrospectives in Liverpool and Montreal, showcased his diverse oeuvre, spanning paintings, watercolors, and lithographs.
