Atlas by Margrethe Odgaard is a woolen upholstery textile that showcases a pioneering mélange look and complements the existing mélanges in the Kvadrat collection. This was achieved through a construction that combines two different colored yarns - each with two colors - in both the warp and weft. Unlike other mélanges, the colors in Atlas are not blended in the fibers, but rather expressed through the material's structure like a pattern. This creates exceptional color intensity and intricate details. The name "Atlas" is derived from the diverse range of colors seen on maps, and fittingly, the textile offers a wide range of colors from bold sorbet tones to rich neutral shades and hints of color within almost black nuances. According to Margrethe Odgaard, the palette for Atlas was carefully chosen from 1216 possible colorways, resulting in a rich and vibrant world of nuances.
