A 19th Century, Dome Topped, Iron Bound Steamer Trunk / Chest With Original Interior

A gorgeous 19th Century trunk with its original fitted interior. The trunk is bound in iron with gothic details.

The trunk does have some damage due to its 150+ years worth of use. An exterior hinge on the back right had side and an interior hinge is broken but the chest is still strong and stable. The 2 leather handles on either side have been ripped off and a piece of leather on the front is torn. Finally, one of the interior doors is split in 2 as well as detached from the frame and there is some historic woodworm to the lid. In all, this piece does need work but it’s an ideal centre piece in its current state, rich in history.
