We offer this unique D-28S Martin from 1976.  This who know abut these models understand that there are significant differences between these and the standard Martin dreadnoughts.  The S model is 12 frets to the body and utilizes a wider neck profile as well as a slope shoulder design and slotted headstock with Grover slimline tuners.  The tone is known to be warm and robust.  The guitar in good playing condition with a straight neck and comfortable action.  There are the usual small marks, dings and finish wear expected of an older instrument and there are three repaired top cracks which are solid but visible.  We tried to show them in the pictures but they are hard to photograph. But the instrument remains attractive showing the older Spruce and Rosewood very nicely. Another interesting feature of this particular guitar is a dual pickup system comprised of an L.R. Baggs sound-hole pickup paired with an older under-saddle transducer with its own volume and tone controls.  This does add some weight to the instrument, and a modern player might choose to remove them and install a single system, but both pickups are working so we are leaving them intact as they might be very desirable for purposes such as recording, or for a performer who desires to emphasize the bass strings, which is how the poles on the Baggs are currently set.  All-in-all a very interesting and pleasing older guitar for someone who can appreciate its qualities.  Comes with a hard shell case that may be the original in fair condition that will suffice to protect it for shipping etc.
