Once used for moving home and storage, now hardly seen, this is a gorgeous old tea chest with added heavy pine lid

I would suggest it dates to the 1950s, but cannot be sure.

Someone has carefully made a lid for it, with lovely hinges and a secure fitting, making it a more usable piece of actual furniture now

Handy as a side table, with extra storage inside?

The original metal lining has mostly gone, but the lovely typography on the outside remains, as does the paper serial number. I have simply given it an oil to bring out the colour more
