One of a Kind Collector Necklace

There are places beneath the ocean that feel untouched by time.

Places where ancient life still seems to linger quietly beneath the surface… where volcanic earth, shifting currents, fossil remains, and hidden reefs hold the memory of worlds long before our own.

That feeling became the inspiration behind Ocean Memory.

At the center of this one-of-a-kind collector necklace is a remarkable Moss Agate layered upon a slab of turquoise — a combination that immediately reminded me of looking down through moving water into the depths below. The natural formations within the stone resemble submerged reefs, sea sediment, underwater currents, and hidden landscapes resting quietly beneath the tides.

The deeper I worked on the piece, the more the ocean itself seemed to guide the story.

Twin handcrafted seahorses rise above the focal stone like guardians of an ancient underwater world, while the silver surrounding them was carefully textured to resemble movement within the ocean itself — currents, bubbles, drifting water, and the living energy found beneath the sea’s surface.

The reverse side of the pendant tells a deeper part of the story. Its heavily textured silver back was intentionally designed to resemble the ancient ocean floor — rich with the feeling of coral formations, fossil impressions, shells, volcanic textures, and tidal erosion shaped slowly over time.

Together, the front and back create two layers of the ocean’s memory: the living waters above and the ancient world resting quietly beneath them.

The handcrafted gemstone necklace continues that narrative through color, texture, and movement.

Chunky Amazonite stones reflect the softer colors of shallow tropical waters, while deep blue Apatite captures the darker mystery of the ocean below. Lava stone introduces the raw volcanic energy that exists beneath the sea itself, grounding the brighter water tones with depth, shadow, and ancient earth energy. Black Onyx moves throughout the necklace like pockets of darkness beneath the tides, while sterling silver ammonite beads quietly reference ancient marine life and the passage of time.

Suspended beneath the pendant, Turquoise, Green Aventurine, and Black Onyx dangles create gentle movement reminiscent of drifting currents, sea grass, and life moving beneath the water’s surface.

This piece was never meant to feel simply beach inspired. It was created to feel ancient, immersive, mysterious, and alive with memory — like a fragment of the ocean itself carried onto land.

As always, Ocean Memory is entirely one of a kind and handcrafted in my Appalachian studio.
