A lovely and rather rarely preserved fine woven silk "Stevengraph" bookmark by Stevens of Coventry.
Executed in c.1880, there were other notable examples in the series that included John Wesley, John Bunyan, and the only then-contemporary example, Charles H. Spurgeon. They also executed a larger format silk panel in recognition of the Puritan Great Ejection of 1662.
1.5 inches by 8.5 inches approximately, very slight fray at head, small fold halfway with light stain. Else, very good and quite nicely preserved.
