What is a fiber optic carpet?

Fiber optic carpet consists of tiny fiber optic lights woven into black carpet to create a pattern of lights. They are safe for any user, as fiber optic strands are very thin and do not carry any electrical current or heat up with use. Our range of LED fiber optic carpets are ultra-safe and are all handmade in our England-based manufacturing location by a team of skilled craftsmen. The carpets are illuminated with our proprietary light source using the latest LED technology, so their lights are bright and their colors vibrant. The included light source is built right here in the USA.

How do fiber optics carpets work?

The LED Fiber Optic Star Carpet is available in three versions: calming, superactive, and IRiS.

• The calming light source in the fiber optic carpet slowly changes through a rainbow of colors. It is perfect for de-escalation and situations where having a controller can be distracting or dangerous (as it could be thrown). 

• Superactive products come with a dedicated 8-color wireless controller, allowing users to control their sensory environment by selecting their color choice. This allows caregivers to work on skills like color recognition and motor control, among others.

The wireless controller operates from up to 90ft and utilizes our new Qi charging system (pronounced "chee").  It has an internal, rechargeable lithium-polymer battery and charges wirelessly using an inductive charging coil. Simply set the controller down on the charging pad, and it charges!

• IRiS Products can be "paired" with multiple different types of controllers to challenge and develop a wide range of skills. Truly state-of-the-art, the IRiS line of equipment is the most flexible and inclusive technology in the multisensory realm.
