Jhoomar, referred to as Passa in Punjab, is a crescent or fan-shaped headpiece worn on the left side during Indian weddings. Predominantly worn by Punjabi brides, it is a significant piece of jewelry for Muslim brides as well, reflecting Islamic influences. The Jhoomar was introduced to India by the Mughals and subsequently became a part of the jewelry traditions in Northern India.
