The Ark by Disconnected Energy is a personal energy generator designed to offer off-grid power to everyone. All you need is a place to site the Ark’s solar panels and the rest is plug and play, no need for electrical knowledge; just follow the guide (included in the kit) and you'll have mains power generated by the sun all year round! 

The Ark is designed with you, the user, in mind. Its sleek contemporary design complements both modern and more traditional décor, its generous power package ensures you have sustainable power all year round, and the advanced, yet user friendly, management system “Bob” helps you make the most of your energy and maximise the life of the batteries. 

The Ark is proudly designed, manufactured and tested in Britain. 

The Ark has been specifically built for the UK climate and tested for over 3 years in the British weather. Testing was based on an 8 hour a day, 5 days a week, with the occasional weekend thrown in too. It’s recommended that most things are turned off at night and that the average power usage is kept under 2kWh per day during winter. The other seasons are far more relaxed as sunshine becomes more frequent.

With its ample 1.8kWp solar array, 8kWh battery bank (incorporating a 2.4kW inverter) and of course our friend “Bob”, the Ark has everything you need to get started on your off-grid journey! 

The Ark can typically run:

• Ethernet switch/router/Wi-fi hotspot
• Printer
• Capsule coffee machine/kettle (<2kW depending on other loads)
• Fridge
• Music
• Lighting
• Shredder
• Phone and USB charging
• Hades biodiesel heater
• Fan
• Air con (800W unit on a sunny summers day only! See "Additional information")

This Ark can also power a home workshop or garage. Whilst it's probably not a regularly used room, the mains power available is suitable for domestic power tools.

The Ark mark 2 has had an upgrade to an 8kWh battery bank and a complete redesign of the inverter/charger system. We're now using a Victron inverter which gives the Ark a new option to be used as an extremely powerful office UPS with built in mains charger.
