The Cessna T-37B Tweet was a small but mighty jet trainer that served as the foundation of U.S. Air Force pilot training for over five decades. With its compact twin-engine design, side-by-side cockpit, and piercing whistle that earned it the nickname “Tweety Bird,” the T-37 introduced nearly every Air Force aviator to jets from the late 1950s through the 2000s. Now, MotoArt is proud to release PlaneTags made from T-37B S/N 61-2915, honoring one of the most important training aircraft in history.

Delivered as a T-37B, serial number 61-2915 entered service with the 3575th Pilot Training Wing at Vance Air Force Base in Oklahoma, where it spent much of its career preparing cadets for their wings. Later, it flew with the 71st Flying Training Wing’s 33rd Flying Training Squadron “Dragons”, continuing its mission of shaping future Air Force pilots at Vance. On its nose, the name “Capt. Doug Witmer” marked the connection between instructors and the generations of students who flew in this jet.
After nearly 50 years of service, 61-2915 was retired to the AMARG Boneyard at Davis-Monthan AFB in 2005. From there, MotoArt recovered its original aluminum skin to preserve this aircraft’s story as part of the PlaneTags collection.

*Important Notice – Please Read Carefully
PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal. Because PlaneTags are made from real fuselage, each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags. These variations and imperfections are not product flaws. They are part of the beauty of PlaneTags. As a result, you will not have an option to select the color of your PlaneTag. The images on this website are provided for reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for choosing a particular PlaneTag.
