A rare and important original lounge chair and ottoman by Tommi Parzinger (1900–1981) for Charak Modern — one of the most elegant and collected designer-manufacturer collaborations in American mid-century furniture history.
Tommi Parzinger was a German-born designer who emigrated to the United States in 1932 and became one of the defining voices of refined American modernism. His work for Charak Modern — characterized by clean silhouettes, exquisite proportion, and restrained decorative detail — is actively sought by collectors and interior designers and appears regularly at major auction houses including Wright, Rago Arts, and Palm Beach Modern.
Sold as a restoration project. Cushions are dry and crunchy — reupholstering required. Scuffs and scratches consistent with age and use. The frame and overall silhouette are intact. With professional reupholstery this set will be showroom quality.
