This is a gilded Pre-Columbian pendant of a deity with a large ornamental  headdress. The pendant is in high relief and has a bright shiny gold finish that resembles the high carat gold of the original museum piece. Alva Museum Replicas made beautiful copies of ancient artwork and antiquities in major museums. The There is a large circle bail on the top. pieces were then sold in the gift shops. The New York City studio dissolved in the late 1970's or early 1980's.
