An exceptionally rare title in any of its three states. Mercy Wheeler was miraculously healed during the throes of the Great Awakening [1742]. Lord had come to America and was preaching for Thomas Foxcroft and experienced there a significant "effusion of the Spirit." It was during this time that Mercy Wheeler was instantly healed. The story was a significant narrative during the awakening, similar to that of Tennent's trance. 

This particular issue is fascinating in that it was issued directly at the beginning of the Second Great Awakening, with new matter at the end. Presumably to stir faith and stretch the imagination of the faithful to believe for previously unimaginable results. While the Second Great Awakening did see this come to pass in terms of the Missionary Awakening, it remained for the next season of national awakening for divine healing to emerge as a significant emphasis.
