A rather large piece of American patriotism from the early to mid 20th Century. This iteration of the United States flag has 48 stars meaning that this flag was only used at some point between 1912 and 1959. The piece is marked on the hoist with what appears to be something along the lines of "JUNIOR CONSTITUTIONAL" and then potentially "CLUB". This could mean that this flag may have belonged to the Junior Constitutional Club in London which opened 1887 & shut in 1916. Of course this could have been misread as it is quite difficult to read.
The flag itself does exhibit some signs of wear with a tear in on its upper right side and some smaller holes at the bottom.
The flag measures 340cm x 170cm or approx. 11ft x 6ft.
