This brake kit was born out of the need to increase braking capacity, and braking capability on our time attack C7. With over 800whp on tap, a pudgy 3400lbs, and treaded street tires, we were absolutely abusing the Normal AP 9668/372 brake package we have had SO much good luck with over the past decade.   Believe it or not, the brakes would fade in one lap at COTA, no matter the pad, no matter the cooling. We were using rotors at an alarming rate. 8 laps at COTA and the brake rotors were cracked all the way through. 

After changing pad compounds, and working around the tight timeline, we learned to manage the brakes reasonably well. However, for Road America, we knew we would be hurting for stopping power. In stepped LGR and DRS (Drum Racing Service) to solve the issue with the Help of MP technologies handling the CAD and FEA, this was truly a team effort to adapt the AP GT3  caliper to the Corvette program.  This caliper is run on current FIA GT3 cars with good success.
