Early 18th Century, French Oak Gothic Bench

An impressive piece likely produced in early 18th Century France and made from oak.

Due to its age, it has some wear and losses which add to its character. A section of the leg at the rear has been professionally replaced as well as a narrow strip at the rear of the seat and the front right hand corner. As said, the restoration work on the piece is very professional which goes to show the significance of this piece to someone at some point in the past.

It should also be mentioned that the bench did once have a severe woodworm infestation at some point in the past, however, the woodworm is now dead.

The bench measures 171cm L x 54cm D x 99cm H.
