Explore Scientific cradle assemblies fit their appointed telescope OTA snuggly, yet protect the delicate surface of the tube. The hinged ring system separates easily by loosening the over-sized metal thumbscrews, and locks securely back into place once the OTA has been nestled inside the rings. Each extruded aluminum ring set is topped with a slotted carry handle so that it is easy to move your telescope around when it is off the mount. Attach a camera, guidescope, or other accessory to the top of the handle with standard 1/4–20 bolts.
Each cradle ring assembly comes with a dovetail plate for quick attachment to a variety of “Vixen-style” mounts, including the Twilight Mount from Explore Scientific. If you are considering an Explore Scientific Cradle Assembly as an accessory for your telescope, please make sure you check the Inside Diameter (ID) measurements of the assembly in question before you buy.
