The Whale Seaward 6 Gallon Hot Water Heater with Rear Heat Exchanger – Stainless Steel – 240V (Model S750) is a rugged, marine-grade electric water heater engineered to deliver continuous hot water aboard boats, yachts, and watercraft. Built with a stainless steel exterior for superior corrosion resistance and a rear heat exchanger, this unit maximizes energy efficiency by allowing engine heat to pre-heat the tank’s water while underway, lessening reliance on shore power or generator use.
Designed for horizontal mounting, the S750 features double-wall heat exchangers, integrated safety controls, an integrated pressure relief valve, and a temperature and pressure drain tube for simplified maintenance. Its stainless steel casing not only offers a modern finish but also delivers durability in harsh saltwater environments.
Whether installed as a primary hot water source or paired with your vessel’s engine cooling system, this hot water heater provides dependable performance for showers, sinks, and galley duties.

While the S750E is an "electric only" model, the S750 includes the heat exchanger coil. This is a critical upgrade for sailors and powerboaters who spend time at anchor; by simply running the engine to charge batteries or motor to the next cove, you effectively "charge" your water heater with thermal energy, reducing the need to run a generator later for showers.
When plumbing the heat exchanger, ensure you use high-temperature marine heater hose and secure all connections with dual stainless steel hose clamps. Because the engine coolant can be significantly hotter than the target water temperature, we highly recommend installing a Thermostatic Mixing Valve on the outlet to prevent accidental scalding at the tap.
