Sikagard® SN-100 is a water-repelling sealer designed to penetrate concrete and masonry substrates. It serves as a protective barrier to reduce the ingress of moisture and water-borne salts, helping to prevent deterioration from freeze/thaw cycles and soluble salts in reinforced concrete and porous surfaces. It is particularly suited for civil engineering structures like bridges, parking decks, barriers, abutment walls, and marine structures.

Sikagard® SN-100 is a standalone silane-based penetrating sealer and does not require a primer or topcoat. It cannot be overcoated with cement or lime-wash based paints and is not intended to be part of a multi-coat system.

It is intended for both horizontal and vertical applications on exposed concrete and masonry. The product is VOC compliant and approved by various transportation ministries (Quebec, Alberta, British Columbia) for use on infrastructure like new bridges and overlays.

• Vertical surfaces: Apply with brush, roller, or low-pressure spray from top to bottom using a 30 cm curtain. Two “wet-on-wet” passes are recommended at right angles.
• Horizontal surfaces: Apply with roller or low-pressure spray to avoid ponding. Also applied in two “wet-on-wet” passes at right angles.
• Coverage: Between 4.9 m²/L to 8.8 m²/L (200–360 ft²/US gal) depending on substrate. Alberta Type 1c spec is 6.33 m²/L (257 ft²/US gal).
• Surface Preparation: Must be clean, dry, and free of contaminants. Best results on 28-day-old concrete; earlier application possible with reduced penetration. Sand-blasting, shot-blasting or high-pressure water blasting recommended for prep.

• Pot Life & Cure Time: No specified pot life; reacts with substrate over a minimum of 24 hours at 25 °C. Longer cure times at lower temperatures.
• Temperature Limits: Can be applied in conditions as low as -10 °C, provided surfaces are frost-free.
• Humidity & Weather: Should not be applied if rain is expected within 12 hours.
• UV Resistance: Penetrates deep and is protected from UV rays and weathering. Considered UV resistant.
• Thickness Limit: Not applicable as it is a penetrating sealer, not a film-forming material.
• Coverage Efficiency: 200–360 ft²/gal depending on substrate porosity.
• Other Limitations: Not for below-grade waterproofing, hydrostatic pressure, or crack sealing. May affect aesthetics (slight darkening) and must be tested on sensitive surfaces. Must not contact untreated building materials like window frames.
