A nice Thomas and Thomas Limestoner model fly rod, 8', 2-piece, 2-tips, built for #4 line. Listed weight of 3 5/8 ounces but my scale has it at 4.3. Serial #4389 with a manufacture date of June, 1987. Excellent, lightly used condition. Dark, nicely mottled cane, and the rod is done in a 3-up node pattern. Pleasant full flexing action in what I'd describe as medium-fast and which ends above the grip at the classic T&T swell. Good ferrule fits and the rod is nice and straight. Good varnish throughout. Wrapped clear with red tipping, and a band of black at the keeper and tip tops (the rod does have some minor frosting around the guide feet that you sometimes see on certain T&T's, a cosmetic issue only). One tip has had a minor varnish re-touch just below the tip-top to address what I'm guessing was a small chip in the varnish. The ferrule wraps are black as well. Oxidized T&T-style swiss ferrules. 11 cork, 5 1/2" grip done in a medium-slim cigar profile, with a very slight amount of ridging. Oxidized cap and ring hardware over a nicely figured walnut wood spacer. The cap is stamped "Thomas and Thomas, Makers". The rear cork check and edge of the cap have some brassing and the spacer has impressions from the reel foot being mounted on it. Comes in a tan poplin bag with stiffener and the original aluminum brass-capped tube with the T&T data sticker intact. A nice model that's a popular choice among those looking for an 8' rod for a #4.
