Inexplicably, the volume has been penetrated by a bullet, high center, which has proceeded only through the board and indenting the preliminaries. The "wound" is clearly of some age. Accidental? Practice? Prophetic? Sorrow? Dark humor? Who knows. An interesting tactile association though.
