PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This Planetag is cut from a Boeing CH-47 Chinook that was first delivered to the United States Army in September 1968 as a C model serial #68-15814. In 1991 it was then converted to a D model and issued a new serial #91-00234 and assigned to the Army Nation Guard in Stockton, California under Company C - "Delta Schooners". On  February 11th, 1998 this was involved in a mid-air collision with a civilian light aircraft.
This American twin-engine, tandem rotor, heavy-lift helicopter, developed by American rotor-craft company Vertol and manufactured by Boeing Vertol (later known as Boeing Rotorcraft Systems), is among the heaviest lifting Western helicopters (capable of lifting up to 50k pounds) - as well as one of the fastest.
