Polyprime 2180/2180SC is a two component, liquid applied, epoxy-polyamine primer with unique penetrating characteristics.

 Polyprime 2180 / 2180SC is a two-component, liquid-applied epoxy-polyamine primer. It is formulated for deep substrate penetration and strong adhesion to various surfaces, available in two versions: 2180 and 2180SC, both with similar technical characteristics. The components come in Side-A (black) and Side-B (white) and must be mixed at a 1:1 ratio by volume.

This primer is designed primarily to seal concrete, plywood, and metal surfaces before the application of waterproofing or coating systems. It enhances adhesion and performance of the subsequent layers.

 Polyprime 2180/2180SC acts as a base primer in multi-layered coating systems. It must be followed by a compatible coating layer once it reaches tack-free state, generally within 3–5 hours. This product is not UV-stable and should be overcoated within 12–16 hours of becoming tack-free.

 Recommended for use in waterproofing systems and flooring or decking applications, especially where excellent adhesion to concrete or metal substrates is essential. It is suitable for both interior and exterior use when top-coated appropriately.

·       Mixing Ratio: 1A:1B by volume. Each component should be premixed before combining.

·       Application Methods: Airless sprayer, brush, or phenolic resin core roller.

·       Coverage: Approximately 300 sq.ft./gal depending on surface texture and porosity.

·       Thickness: 4 ± 1 mils dry film thickness per coat.

·       Pot Life: 60–90 minutes at 75°F (24°C), 50% RH.

·       Tack-Free Time: 3–5 hours at 75°F (24°C), 50% RH.

·       Cure Window: Must be overcoated within 12–16 hours after becoming tack-free.

·       Installation Temperature: Substrate temperature should be >50°F (10°C) and at least 5°F (3°C) above dew point.

·       Environmental Sensitivity: Highly sensitive to heat and humidity—these factors accelerate cure and reduce pot life.

·       VOC Content: 1.17 lb/gal (2180) and 0.83 lb/gal (2180SC); compliant with SCAQMD regulations.

·       Polyprime 2180/2180SC is not UV-stable and must always be top-coated.

·       Shelf life is 1 year in original, unopened containers stored at 60–95°F (15–35°C).

·       Do not mix more material than can be used in 20 minutes.

·       Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from contaminants before application.

·       Cleanup should be done immediately using a compliant environmentally safe solvent.
