There is nothing like lighted paper lanterns or Chinese sky lanterns!

This original painting is inspired by a summer garden party.  As a child I was fascinated by these lights that came alive at dusk and lit the night.  These sights and sounds of summer have stuck with me. 

And, as most know, I am keen on incorporating recycled items into my work.  This canvas is upcycled. Glad I could reduce waste going to the landfill.

What is upcycling? 

Upcycling is to reuse discarded objects or material in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original.  The opportunity to upcycle trash, or turn it into new products, is full of opportunities!
