Recognised as a Thalu (Increase) site for seeds, Jirda holds deep cultural importance. It is governed by ancient laws, songs, and traditions passed down from the Creation Times, all of which guide how the site is to be protected and honoured.

About the Artist:

Judith is a highly respected Yindjibarndi Elder, artist, and Cultural Custodian. She has been painting since 2010, creating intricate acrylic works that reflect her profound connection to Country. In recent years, she has expanded her practice to include yarranga marni (carved boards), which have been featured in prominent Perth exhibitions and collected by institutions including the WA Department of Arts and Culture.

Judith's bold, culturally rich artworks draw from Yindjibarndi creation stories and her deep love for Ngurra (Country). Her work was featured on the cover of the 2019 Rio Tinto Colours of our Country catalogue and more recently showcased in The Track We Share exhibition at the Art Gallery of Western Australia.

Archival prints of original artworks printed with pigment inks (not dyes) onto top-quality rag paper and are guaranteed to last up to 100 years, however it is recommended that NO artwork be placed in direct sunlight. Editions of 100 and embossed with the Juluwarlu Art Group logo. Print is 37 x 29 cm (similar to A3 in size).
