In The Belly Pot the shape has an area of light around it filling the space and lighting the trees within a suburban garden. The print is one of a series inspired by an extract from the film ‘A Potter’s World’, which shows potter Bernard Leach describe the objects he makes as living things with human characteristics. Katherine was so moved by the film that she made a series of works which celebrate Leach’s theories.
