An Eden Cane (Bernard Ramanauskas) bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial #4764. The rod weighs 3.4 ounces on my scale. Very light use (perhaps only lawn cast) with just the tiniest hint of tanning to the grip. Nodeless design with scarf joints where the nodes were. Medium to slow action. Very nice varnish with clear main wraps with a tiny band of red in the middle. Agate stripper and black nickel snake guides. Brown wraps at the oxidized truncated swiss ferrules. The grip is 6" long and is a relatively flat cylinder of 1/4" corks with a thin composite cork at the front and a hidden pocket cap for an "up / down" slide band seat. Both the ring and cap are oxidized with a couple of scratches to the oxidation on the bottom of the cap. The spacer is a flatted soft maple burl with spalting lines and was mostly likely stabilized by impregnating it. The rod comes in a black cloth bag with "Freestone" embroidered on the flap. The tube is black crackle painted aluminum with brass fittings.
