Designed by Michele De Lucchi for Artemide, the Castore 35 Suspension Light provides diffused lighting with a white hand blown glass diffuser. Features diffuser support in steel tubing encased in white clear molded polycarbonate, which allows for soft diffusion of light. For durability, Castore uses globe-shaped white hand-blown glass shade and a steel and white translucent molded polycarbonate stem. The round steel canopy is mixed with white molded thermoplastic. It ships with stainless steel suspension cables and a white steel canopy and mounts to a standard junction box.Artemide has a 3-word design philosophy, "the human light," that has guided them since their 1960 start in Milan, Italy. Artemide's task lamps--like the Tizio (1972) and the Tolomeo (1987)--are long-standing icons of modern Italian lighting. Working with an exceptional, evolving group of designers and architects, Artemide lighting has been able to broadly innovate with high tech materials, organic forms and advanced LED technology.
