Installation Pro-Tips

1. Bedding Compound: Always use a high-quality marine sealant (like 3M 4200) under the base to prevent water from intruding into your deck or cabin top.

2. Backing Plates: For 8-foot antennas, if your mounting surface is thin fiberglass, use a stainless steel or G10 backing plate underneath to distribute the load and prevent stress cracks.

3. Handle Orientation: Install the mount so the handle is easily accessible and the antenna can lay down in a clear, unobstructed path (usually toward the stern).
