One of the defining features of Belle Époque jewellery is the meticulous craftsmanship and intricate detail which went into their design; and this exquisite pendant is a fine example; one which I am so happy to have the pleasure of handling.

This French made Belle Epoch old cut diamond pendant; in the shape of a romantic floral bouquet has fluid lines adorned with incredible old cut diamonds mounted in 9ct gold and silver set to the front. The silver setting has the finest Millegrain edging which just shows the detail that went into making this piece. A harmonious blend of delicacy and intricacy. We believe that this necklace would have been specially commissioned for a wealthy family. The pendant boasts a whopping 49 old cut Diamonds of an estimated 1.71carat weight! Nestled in the centre is a cornflower blue Sapphire which provides a subtle yet beautiful pop of colour.

This pendant has had two Diamonds sympathetically replaced - one to the top row and also to the drop at the bottom, these Diamonds are a touch brighter but nonetheless they do work their way nicely into the piece. We can imagine this elegant necklace gracing the neck of a beautiful bride or acting as the sumptuous centre piece at a black tie event.
