ALSAN FLOOR FLAKES are decorative, pigmented polymer flakes designed to be broadcast into liquid-applied ALSAN resin systems. They are used to enhance the aesthetic appeal and surface texture of floor coating systems, providing a visually appealing and customizable finish. These flakes are intended for use in both commercial and industrial flooring applications where a decorative and durable surface is desired.

ALSAN FLOOR FLAKES are not a standalone system but are used in conjunction with ALSAN liquid-applied resin systems. The complete system typically includes:

- Base Coat: ALSAN resin (specific type depends on the system design and substrate)

- Flake Layer: ALSAN FLOOR FLAKES broadcast into the wet resin

- Top Coat: ALSAN clear top coat (such as ALSAN RS 230, ALSAN RS 260, or other compatible ALSAN top coats) to seal and protect the flakes

ALSAN FLOOR FLAKES are suitable for use in a variety of interior and exterior flooring applications, including:

- Commercial and retail spaces

- Industrial floors

- Institutional buildings

- Decorative concrete surfaces

- Garage floors and showrooms

ALSAN FLOOR FLAKES can be applied using two main methods:

1. Random Broadcast: Flakes are lightly scattered into the wet ALSAN resin top coat to achieve a subtle decorative effect. Once cured, a clear ALSAN top coat is applied to seal the surface.

2. Full Saturation Broadcast: Flakes are applied to full saturation into the wet resin. After curing, excess flakes are removed using a broom, vacuum, or sandblaster to achieve the desired texture. A clear ALSAN top coat is then applied to encapsulate and protect the flakes.

Coverage:

- Full Saturation Broadcast:

- 1/4 in flakes: 200–280 ft² per 40 lb box

- 1/8 in flakes: 160–240 ft² per 40 lb box

- 1/16 in flakes: 120–200 ft² per 40 lb box

- Partial Saturation Broadcast:

- Coverage ranges from 1,000 to 8,000 ft² per 40 lb box depending on the desired flake density and visual effect

- ALSAN FLOOR FLAKES are available in a wide range of standard and custom colours, with flake sizes of 1/4", 1/8", and 1/16". Hybrid and marble-type flakes are also available upon request.

- Colour consistency may vary slightly between batches, especially for marble-type flakes. It is recommended to intermix flakes from different lots to ensure uniform appearance.

- ALSAN FLOOR FLAKES must be used with compatible ALSAN resin and top coat systems. Consult SOPREMA for specific resin and top coat recommendations based on the project requirements.

- This product is decorative and does not provide structural or waterproofing properties on its own. It must be used as part of a complete ALSAN flooring system.

- Environmental and application conditions such as temperature, humidity, and substrate preparation must follow the guidelines of the ALSAN resin and top coat products used in the system.
