The impact of cold atmospheric plasma on the skin can be summarised as follows:

1. ACNE – For acne and oily skin, plasma is extremely effective in destroying P. acne bacteria, quickly reducing skin inflammation, soothing the skin, and preventing acne reoccurrence by balancing sebum production. It is one of the gentlest ways to treat acne (including teenage acne) and is suitable from 12 years and over (with parental consent).
2. PROBLEMATIC & IRRITATED SKIN – The oxidative stress of cold atmospheric plasma has an antioxidant impact on the skin’s immune system. It reduces the damaging effect of chronic skin diseases – such as atopic dermatitis, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis and seborrhoea – which manifests in inflamed, irritated, dehydrated, and rough skin.
3. STERILIZATION – The electrical voltage between the freely charged particles in plasma (electrons and ions) causes the cell membranes to disintegrate, accelerates the self-destruction mechanism of skin cells, and causes cellular division. The damage caused to DNA actually creates a “disinfection” process – the destruction of bacteria and fungi and the self-destruction of inflammatory cells and other damaged cells. This process also raises the level of free intracellular oxygen.
4. SKIN REGENERATION & ANTI-AGING – Cold plasma therapy triggers the division of the basal cells to stimulate epidermal regeneration, boosts production of new collagen, stimulates the formation of new blood vessels and assist in healing wounds. It also strengthens skin immunity and the epidermal barrier and improves intercellular communication.
5. DEPIGMENTING – The atomic oxygen in atmospheric plasma oxygenates the melanin in the epidermis, and is therefore effective in lightening epidermal brown spots (whether hormonal pigmentation, age spots, sun damage etc). This process is especially effective for hyperpigmentation under which an inflammatory process takes place. By reducing the inflammation, the plasma also reduces the level of haemoglobin around the spot, thus reduces blemish.
6. BOOSTS ABSORBTION – Research shows that plasma increases epidermal permeability in the first 12 hours after treatment by ~24%. Therefore many facials for all skin types can incorporate a Dr Platon plasma treatment to boost results and improve absorption of active ingredients.

• Please note that 13000v using a metal head is not cold plasma. It is hot plasma.(fibroblast etc) 
• The only way you can properly output 13000v is using metal head, but other companies are using plastic disposable head (for cost reasons most likely) the tips cannot handle the power and they are being burnt then it will lead to damages on the machine eventually too.  
• There are many studies done in Korea that 7000v to 9000v is most suitable for cold plasma to give full anti aging benefits. In the beginning, our Dr. Platon model #1 (before we looked into the technology) had both Hot plasma 13000v and Cold plasma 7000-9000v but Cold Plasma did much better with results so they reduced the cost and made the current Dr. Platon with Cold Plasma only! 
• The method of Plasma differs between the "discharge method" or a "gas sublimation method" but this also changes depending on the voltage. Gas is no longer considered a good method due to ozone levels. That is why they never go with higher voltage due to safety reasons (and results!) If we go with 13000v, the whole method changes to Gas and again, it is no longer a cold plasma. Our Dr. Platon is a "discharged electric current type" which is the best type in the market currently. 
• Our manufacturer did many trials before and no matter what material it is (they used high quality metal as you can see from the pictures) if the voltage is higher than 12000, it will still damage the machine later on. Thank you!
